What does LawFiq do?
We advise Muslims in England and Wales on marriage, divorce, inheritance and business, where Islamic principles and English law both apply. Our scholars give the religious guidance and rulings. Our partner solicitors carry out all reserved legal work.
Who carries out the legal work?
LawFiq gives you Islamic guidance, advice and mediation. Legal work, such as a civil divorce, a financial order or court documents, is carried out by our partner solicitors. We coordinate the two, so you do not have to pass messages between them.
Do you handle Islamic divorce, such as talaq and khula?
Yes. Our scholars’ panel decides khula and faskh, and advises on talaq. If your marriage was also registered in law, you will need a civil divorce too, and our partner solicitors can deal with it.
Is my personal information kept secure?
Yes. What you tell us is kept private. We never share it with your family, community or mosque. The only exception is if the law requires it or someone is at risk of serious harm.
