Terms and regulatory information

These terms govern your use of our website and set out important information about our services and how we are regulated. Please read them carefully.

About LawFiq

LawFiq is the trading name of LawFiq Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17408508, with its registered office at Conductor, 8 Westfield Avenue, London E20 1NW.

Our services, and our regulatory status

LawFiq provides Islamic guidance, advisory and mediation services for Muslims and their businesses. All regulated legal work is carried out by our partner firm, Invictus Law (Invictus Professionals Ltd). Invictus Law is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, SRA number 8008438. Its registered office is Brook House, 54a Cowley Mill Road, Uxbridge UB8 2FX. This means regulated legal work is done by qualified, regulated solicitors. LawFiq provides the Islamic guidance and mediation that sits alongside it.

LawFiq is not itself a firm of solicitors and is not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. LawFiq’s own services are not regulated by the SRA. You cannot complain about them to the Legal Ombudsman, and they are not covered by the SRA Compensation Fund. Legal work carried out by Invictus Law is regulated and does have these protections. We are always clear about this distinction, so you know exactly who is doing what on your matter.

Some of our team trained or researched at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi, Madinah and the University of Oxford. LawFiq is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, either institution. A Sharia opinion from LawFiq is not regulatory approval, and LawFiq is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. When you send a form, an AI tool may make a short summary for our team; a person always reads your full message (see our privacy notice).

The information on this website is general guidance only. It is not legal, financial or religious advice on your situation. You should not act, or refrain from acting, on the basis of this website alone. For advice on your circumstances, please contact us so we can help you properly.

Confidentiality and legal privilege

We keep what you tell us confidential, and share it only as our privacy notice explains: with your agreement, with the people handling your matter, where someone is at risk of serious harm, or where the law requires it.

Legal professional privilege. LawFiq is not a law firm, so what you tell LawFiq is not protected by legal professional privilege. Privilege can apply to communications with a solicitor at our partner firm, Invictus Law, when they are advising you on regulated legal work.
